Cody's STARband

We finally received Cody's helmet last week. He's had a very easy adjustment and doesn't seem to even notice it's there. It's already prevented a few injuries. My dad always said little kids should wear helmets, I think he's on to something. Claire thinks Cody has a little bike hidden somewhere. Avalon was very sympathetic the first few days and wore her bike helmet.
We have another appointment in 2 weeks so we'll see how much his head is grows.

The helmet is lined with foam that provides gentle contact over the part of his head that sticks out to discourage additional growth there and provides extra space in the area of the head that is flat to grow into. At his check ups, the orthotist will progressively remove the foam liner or makes adjustments as needs be. Because he is 14 months old, his head growth has slowed down quite a bit so he will probably be wearing the "STARband" for 5-6 months.

Cody has also started to crawl a little although he still mainly does the army crawl because it's quicker for him. He likes to tease me by getting up on all fours and crawling a little and then lie down on his belly. He then gets up again and crawls some more and quickly lies down on his belly again... he does this over and over. He thinks he's really funny. He's just a happy little guy. I couldn't have asked for better kids! They are so much fun.
