Mother's Day Weekend Events

Friday night activities:

Claire and Solana had a babysitter with festivities that included pizza, painting nails, popcorn and a movie.

Mom, Avalon and Sydney attended Avalon's Girls Scout Camp out. We roasted hot dogs over the fire, sang campfire songs, did a craft and made s'mores.

Dad and Cody had a father son camp out at the same area as the girl scouts. They set up the tent, made s'mores, came and picked up Avalon around 8:30 p.m. so she could sleep with them and  mom could go home to the other kiddos.

Dad slept very little because mom bought him a very thin pad and Avalon and Cody enjoyed playing steam roller all night. :)

Mom got home, paid the sitter, realized she forgot to put her sheets in the dryer so popped them in. While she waited for them to dry she enjoyed a very peaceful few hours eating her favorite milano cookies and watching a chick flick. (A mother's day treat to herself!)

Saturday:

Mom, Claire, Solana, and Sydney went to church to help make choc. covered strawberries for the Young Women's Camp Fundraiser.

Jared and Cody dropped Avalon back off with her Girls Scout troop before heading home.

Avalon went hiking with the girls scouts and almost stepped on a baby rattlesnake! THANKFULLY she jumped over it's body and no one was hurt. (Apparently a man was bit later that day by a baby rattler and life-flighted out, luckily he survived.)

Avalon was brought home by a friend, tells mom about the baby rattler, mom about hyperventilates thinking about what could have happened and feels truly thankful to the Lord that her daughter is home safe.

Jared and Alexandria get errands done while kids play with neighbors.

Sunday:

Mom gets to sleep in. Comes downstairs to find beautiful flowers, cinnamon rolls, sweet cards from all the kids and dad. She listens to Mother's Day greetings recorded by Jared and the kids including a Mother's Day poem. Mom feels super loved and spoiled and like the luckiest woman in the world.

The whole crew heads to church on time. Avalon, Claire, Cody and Solana sing a Mother's Day song with the Primary. The kids stay in the chapel the entire sacrament meeting (a rare occurrence).

Jared makes a yummy dinner and the kids sing a Happy Mother's day song before mom gets to blow out a candle on a Mother's Day Cake! Spend the rest of the day together playing games and having fun.

Mom feels super loved and appreciated. Mom loves and appreciates her family!
